Christian Education

Christian Education classes for children, grades K - 6 and middle school students who are not enrolled in Confirmation class, are conducted on Wednesday afternoons during the school year. We call this W.O.W. or Word on Wednesday. Transportation is available from the Elementary and Middle schools to Mount Cross. Click here for our 2009 / 2010 schedule. There is also a permission / authorization form along with W.O.W. Expectations. (Please print out the permission form and bring to the first day of WOW attendance).

The program begins at 3:00p.m. with snacks followed by craft projects. The lessons begin at 4:00p.m. The lessons this year are from the Augsburg Fortress curriculum "Seasons of the Spirit" and follow the Revised Common lectionary readings used on Sundays in the worship services. The afternoon ends at 4:45p.m. Children must be picked up at the church at that time.

The W.O.W. students enjoy many other fun activities during the year which may include field trips, caroling, Christmas programs, and Vacation Bible School.

Confirmation Class for 7th and 8th graders - meets on Wednesdays during W.O.W. at 4:00 - 4:45p.m. Pastor teaches. Transportation from the Middle school to Mount Cross is available. Students must be picked up at the church after Confirmation class.

Middle and High School Youth Group meets after the second service on Sundays at 11:45am during the school year for fun, study, fellowship, and service. During school breaks the Youth Group participates in fun activities such as water park excursions, rock climbing, and tubing on the Salt river. Friends in Christ, a group for developmentally disabled youth and adults, meets throughout the year on Wednesdays at 3:00p.m. for Bible lessons, crafts, and fellowship.

Adult Christian Education Classes meet on Tuesdays at 5:30p.m. New sessions begin at various times during the year. Call the church office, (928) 474-2552, for the schedule.
